The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) and the Nebraska Trucking Association (NTA) invite you to a highly informative and engaging event, the Citizen Carrier Enforcement Academy Day, on October 28, 2026, in North Platte, NE. This event promises a comprehensive exploration of NSP Carrier Enforcement, offering participants exclusive insights.

The doors open at 8:00 a.m., with learning beginning at 8:30 a.m., culminating at the day's end with a wealth of knowledge and practical demonstrations. After completing the day, participants receive a certificate of completion and an application for future ride-along opportunities an invaluable chance to experience firsthand the workings of NSP Carrier Enforcement.

The comprehensive agenda includes NSP Carrier Enforcement history and function, compliance reviews, commercial driver license (CDL) compliance, hours of service (HOS) and electronic logging devices (ELD) regulations, and an overview of the hazardous materials program. The group will learn about post-crash investigations, the DataQ process, substance abuse awareness, and human trafficking. The Academy Day will provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of the many aspects of NSP Carrier Enforcement. Lunch will be included. 

Participants will witness a full Level One inspection demonstration and visit the scales to observe the operation, including how NSP uses screening equipment such as DOT readers, plate readers, and flat tire sensors.
